COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Although there are no Red Flag Warnings like there were Tuesday, and the potential for grass, brush and leaf fires has diminished, dry conditions combined with gusty winds and warm temperatures will bring the potential for fires to spread out of control Wednesday.
The National Weather Services says a record cold early spring has delayed spring growth leaving large areas of dead brush and grasses. In addition, little rain has fallen since April 20.
As temperatures rise into the low 80s, relative humidities will drop to around 45 percent.
Increasing winds to between 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 miles an hour could lead to small fires quickly becoming out of control.
