COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Vacant storefronts in downtown Coldwater will soon have a new look.
Tibbits Opera Foundation Executive Director Christine Delaney, along with consultant Bob Harris, proposed to the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority board Wednesday that three by five foot signs be put in the nearly dozen vacant downtown buildings in order to brighten them up.
The City of Detroit did the same thing at the time they hosted the Super Bowl.
The signs would say “Opportunity Coldwater” and “Right Here/Right Now”.
She said the designs presented on Wednesday were preliminary. The board voted to support the idea and authorized up to $2,500 for the project.
Meanwhile, the board went over proposed by laws that have been put together by City Manager Keith Baker. They include steps to remove a board member, especially if they are regularly absent for meetings.
No action was taken by the board Wednesday as Baker plans to make proposed changes.
