BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson Police Department says with the warmer weather now here, they are starting to make sure properties are in compliance with local ordinances, especially those ordinances that deal with junk and unregistered or inoperable vehicles.
The department said in a statement posted on their Facebook page that most of the violations they come across involve old unused furniture, scrap metal, old appliances, general trash and unregistered motor vehicles.
They are requesting residents to inspect their property and remove any items that would be in violation of a city ordinance which covers these items.
Police say their intent is to work with property owners to make sure they are in compliance but the responsibility lies with the property owner or resident.
If a violation continues after notifications, criminal prosecution could result in extreme cases. The ordinance can be found on the City of Bronson website under the Code of Ordinances link.
The city office may be able to assist you in setting up a bulk item pickup for a small fee. Local scrap buyers may also be able to assist.
