COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly leading a Branch County Sheriff’s Department patrol car on a chase through Batavia Township.
40-year old Daniel Hutchins was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court on charges of 4th degree fleeing and eluding and driving on a suspended license while also being cited for a probation violation.
Hutchins was lodged at the Branch County Jail early Sunday afternoon and his booking sheet showed the deputy began pursuing his mini-van on North Snow Prairie Road at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday near Lindley Road. The 15 minute chase with speeds reaching 70 mph continued southbound across US 12 and ended after Hutchins pulled into a trailer park and drove around for a time before finally coming to a stop.
Hutchins is being held on a $25,000 bond with a Branch County District Court probable cause hearing scheduled for May 22, 2018.
