COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- Officials with the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities are asking residents that if they are using a sump pump due to high water, make sure it is hooked up correctly and is not discharging into your sanitary sewer system.
Doing so could potentially cause a severe and stinky sewer backup in your home.
Not only can this cause detrimental damage, it is illegal.
