COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a pair of staffing requests at their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioners approved a request from Drain Commissioner Michael Hard to fill an Assistant Plant Operator vacancy at a starting rate of $12.35 an hour.
Hard said they needed to fill this position to allow for the current employees to perform their duties and not have to share the responsibility of the Assistant Plant Operator duties.
Hard told commissioners this has become a safety concern.
He added due to the current work load, the plant manager presently has 37 hours of comp time, while the manager in training has comp time totaling 54 hours, and they are unable to use it.
Commissioners also approved a staff replacement for the position of Building Inspection Department Data Coordinator. The current coordinator, Suzette Arnold, has accepted a position in the Friend of the Court Office, where she will start next Tuesday.
