COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Friends and family of Branch Intermediate School District Superintendent Joe Lopez wished him a happy retirement Thursday during an open house at the Southern Michigan Bank and Trust Lending Center.
Lopez will be retiring at the end of July.
He has been the BISD Superintendent since 2011 and has spent 36 years in education.
Before becoming the BISD Superintendent, Lopez was the Superintendent for Quincy Community Schools.
He was also a high school and middle school principal during his career.
Lopez graduated from Michigan State University and several folks who attended the open house were wearing the green and white.
Kristine Jenkins has been selected to succeed Lopez.
