COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just 15 days after high temperatures struggled to get out of the low 50s, the mercury soared during a mostly sun splashed Memorial Day holiday weekend in Branch County.
According to the National Weather Service website, the high temperature Sunday at the Branch County Memorial Airport hit 93 degrees just after 4:00 p.m., which broke the record high for May 27 of 92 degrees set back in 2012.
The high on Memorial Day was 92, which tied the record for May 28 that was also set six years ago.
Forecasters are calling for one more hot day before temperatures start to moderate. The long range forecast is calling for highs in the 70’s this weekend.
