BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Some isolated pop up thunderstorms caused a few problems in the southern part of Branch County Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service says a few of the storms produced wind gusts of up to 40 miles an hour as post-tropical remnants from Alberto started to move north into the area.
The storms were not severe but there were at least eight reports of limbs and branches being blown down in about a half hour period.
Reports came in from Block, Southern, Whipple, Hurley, Wood and Rierson Roads.
The rumbles of thunder forced Bronson officials to suspend play in the high school baseball and softball tournaments for about an hour.
