COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man was arraigned yesterday on charges stemming from a Wednesday afternoon incident in Coldwater that included being chased on foot by Coldwater City Police.
Officers said 20-year old Bobby Lee Murphy was found drunk and drinking alcohol in his car, which was running while parked at Walmart. However, an operating while intoxicated high blood count charge requested by police was not authorized by the Branch County Prosecutor’s office.
Murphy was taken into custody by officers in a wooded area behind the Phoenix Building on US 12. He was arraigned in District Court on a pair of 2-year felony counts of resisting and obstructing and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Murphy’s bond was revoked because of a previous charge pending in Branch County District Court, where he’s due to appear for a probable cause hearing June 12, 2018.
