COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Summer vacation is underway for students in the Coldwater and Bronson school districts.
Bronson Superintendent Rick Hilderley posted a video on his Twitter account of the bedlam as the buses pulled away from the school Friday morning. One of the teachers was seen executing a perfect cartwheel.
Coldwater students also went home for the summer after a half day of classes.
Quincy students will have a half day of classes on Monday and Tuesday before being let out for the summer.
Thursday was the last day of classes for Pansophia Academy and St. Charles Borromeo School in Coldwater, while St. Mary’s Assumption School in Bronson finished the school year Friday.
Thanks to a waiver that the Bronson, Coldwater and Quincy school districts along with the Branch Intermediate School District and Pansophia Academy received from the state, this was the first of three years they could start classes before Labor Day and dismiss for the summer before some other districts.
Since Union City started after Labor Day last September, students in that district won’t be getting out for summer until June 13, 2018.
