COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The first road project of the spring construction season begins in the city of Coldwater Monday.
The final portion of the Grand Street reconstruction project will begin between Cardinal Drive and West Pierce Street. The road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the construction.
The project includes the replacement of the sidewalk, curb, gutter, and a complete repaving of the street. The section of Grand Street near Marshall Street was rebuilt last summer.
The Grand Street work is just part of a busy construction season in Coldwater.
It has included the repaving of U.S. 12 between Coldwater and Bronson, the removal of the old U.S. 12 bridge and work in the Chandler Plaza parking lot.
In addition, the Marshall/Division/Business Loop-69 project is scheduled to start after the Branch County Fair wraps up in August.
The reconstruction of the railroad crossing on Division near Park will take place before the fair.
