COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An Algansee Township man entered a guilty plea in a child computer sex crime case on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
21-year-old Anthony Alan Bais-Adams admitted his guilt to a charge of being in possession of child sexually abusive material as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors. He was arrested last January at his girlfriend’s home in Quincy following a Michigan State Police investigation.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors will dismiss a charge of using a computer to commit a crime and the sentencing enhancer of being a second time habitual offender.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 23rd.
State Police say their Computer Crime Unit began to investigate Bais-Adams last August after they got a tip. They said at the time of his arrest that they seized a computer which contained photos of underage females engaged in sexual activities.
