COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A consulting firm from East Lansing has contracted with the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance to work with the four cities and villages in the county, so that economic development and community marketing strategies can be developed.
Joe Borgstrom of Place and Main Advisors told the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session last Thursday that the move will help Coldwater, Bronson, Union City and Quincy become more qualified for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Redevelopment Ready Communities program.
Economic development summits are being held in the four communities over the next couple of weeks.
The first public hearing was held in Quincy Wednesday night. Others will be held next Thursday in Coldwater, June 26 in Union City and June 27 in Bronson.
Borgstrom says they hope to wrap up their work sometime in October.
