THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – A man who allegedly ran a red light near Three Rivers and collided with another vehicle has been arrested and jailed for multiple driving offenses.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says 20-year-old Juan Hernandez-Espinoza shot through the stop light at Wilbur Road and U.S. 131 just before 11:00 a.m. Thursday and hit a mini-van driven by 66-year-old Gary Russell.
The impact sent the mini-van into the ditch where it rolled over onto the legs of a back seat passenger who had been ejected from the vehicle.
32-year-old Tiffany Blum was flown by AirCare to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo. Two other occupants of the mini-van were taken there by ambulance. St. Joseph County Sheriff Bradley Balk says they may file additional charges against Espinoza.
