JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A Jonesville teenager was killed Tuesday night when his bicycle was struck by a vehicle in Hillsdale County.
The Michigan State Police say the fatal crash took place at about 10:00 p.m. on Mosherville Road near Borden Road.
Witnesses reported that a vehicle traveling west on Mosherville Road driven by a 20 year old Jonesville resident collided with a bicycle being ridden by 16-year-old Braxton Petrie.
Petrie later died from injuries sustained from the accident at Hillsdale Hospital.
The accident is still under investigators. Troopers say it’s believed alcohol was a factor in the crash.
They were assisted at the scene by the Litchfield Fire Department and Reading Emergency Medical personnel.
