COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education formally adopted the district’s 2018-2019 budgets Wednesday night.
Superintendent Terry Boguth said the budget includes an additional fifth grade section for the upcoming school year, since the fourth grade class had the highest enrollment.
Grand funding will also allow for an additional instructional coach in the district.
Boguth said the predicted 2018-2019 budget is based on a lot of assumptions but right now, it had excess revenue of over $100,000.
The district’s fund equity has increased by nearly $1.8 million from 2015 to 2017. It stood last year at over $5.6 million.
Boguth said school officials are predicting an enrollment increase of 28 students for the upcoming year after enrollment increased by 20 students in 2017-2018 and by 116 students in 2016-2017.
