COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the City Council during a routine 16 minute meeting Monday night that things seemed to go well last week when 11 residential streets in the city were micro sealed. Baker says micro sealing is a preventative maintenance for roads that is much like chip sealing but without the loose stone and dust.
The treatment seals the street from water infiltration and oxidation for between three and five years. Officials think this will save tax-payers money by extending the life of streets and roads.
City residents were notified at least 24 hours in advance before the work was done. Baker said while they have gotten positive comments, he asked Council members to let them know if they hear anything from their constituents.
