(COLDWATER) — Three quotes submitted for a new Branch County Government web site from a new provider were reviewed by County Commissioners during their Thursday work session.
Branch County IT Manager Matt Fosdick is recommending the county accept a $14,000 quote from WebTecs, Incorporated of Grand Rapids. He feels they are the least expensive and had the most support from peers.
Fosdick also feels they don’t lock customers into a proprietary content management system.
Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak told Commissioners that their current system is difficult to work with during elections and the storage of vital records.
She said she has been trying to update the system for nearly two years.
Branch County Administrator Bud Norman said the funding would come from both the county and the Clerk’s office but other departments will be asked to contribute.
Commissioners voted to bring forward formal action on the quotes to next Tuesday’s meeting.
