COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As the construction on a seven mile portion of I-69 in Branch County is wrapping up, the Michigan Department of Transportation says the scheduled work on the I-69 Business Loop will start next Monday, August 13, 2018.
The project is scheduled to be finished by October 19, 2018. There will be single lane closures under flag control during the work.
Crews will be repaving four miles of the I-69 Business Loop from the Fenn Road exit to Pierce Street in Coldwater.
The road will be converted from four to three lanes between Railroad Street and U.S. 12.
The $1.5 million project included the updating of the railroad crossing at Park and Division which wrapped up just in time for the Branch County Fair.
The Business Loop I-69 work is part of what has been a very busy summer of road construction around Branch County. Besides the recent work on I-69, U.S. 12 between Bronson and Coldwater has been repaved. As part of that project, the Indiana Northeastern Railroad bridge west of Batavia Road was removed.
