COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The old Dairy Queen store on South Division was torn down this week which saddened a lot of people around Coldwater. But there’s good news for DQ fans.
The owners of the Angola Dairy Queen store have closed on the Coldwater Recreation Lanes property at 559 East Chicago with plans to build a new Dairy Queen at that location.
Todd Haidous purchased the Angola Dairy Queen in 2015.
The bowling alley won’t be closing until sometime in 2019 as owner Scott Rzepka indicated in a message he left on his answering machine.
He said they will have leagues this fall which will start in late September.
When Coldwater Recreation Lanes closes, Midway Lanes and Bronson Strike Zone will be the only Branch County bowling alleys left.
Not all of the old Coldwater Dairy Queen store is gone. Local resident Eddie Miller managed to save the head of the Dennis the Menace mural that was on the side of the building.
