COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Police are investigating a collision between a pickup truck and a bicycle on the city’s east side that sent the female cyclist to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.
Police say the accident happened Friday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.as the Chevy Silverado was pulling out of the parking lot of Penske Logistics Freight on Sauk River Drive. According to police, the pickup was preparing to leave the freight lot and had come to a stop while the cyclist on Sauk River attempted to go around in front of the Silverado. That’s when police say the pickup started up again and the front bumper of the vehicle struck the biker.
Officers say the woman was bleeding from the head and was transported by Life Care Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment. Her name was not released and there’s no word on her condition.
Police identified the pickup driver as 52-year old James Billman of Coldwater.
