COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Police Department reports the number of criminal complaints during the second quarter of 2018 were down by 8% when compared to the same quarter of last year.
In their report prepared for Monday’s Coldwater City Council meeting, the departmemt says the total amount of complaints dropped by 13% in the second quarter.
While there was a drop in criminal criminals, the number of assaults went up from nine last year to 23 during the second quarter of 2018.
Narcotics complaints also up from 36 in 2017 to 48 this year.
Among the crimes taking a drop were fraud, which went down from 59 to 42, domestic offenses and OUIL cases.
The Coldwater Police Department says 69% of the criminal complaints were solved and closed, while 10% were solved with no prosecution, and 21% of the complaints were still unsolved.
