COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County District Court hearings for a 19-year-old woman who is charged with four counts in a child sex and pornography case have been delayed until September.
The lawyer for Jayme Lynn Lapoint was granted a request for adjournment.
The reason behind the motion is not known.
Lapoint is being held without bond pending her probable cause hearing which has been rescheduled for September 6, while a preliminary exam is scheduled for September 13, 2018.
She was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation and charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, child abusive commercial activity, using computers to commit a crime and distribution and promotion of child abusive commercial activity.
Court documents indicate the alleged victim in the case is a two-year-old girl.
The alleged crimes took place in October 2017 while Lapoint was babysitting the youngster. Counts two, three and four were filed for her alleged use of a cell phone to send video to her husband of the sex acts.
