COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Drain Commissioner Michael Hard says there are no indications of leaks in the Blackhawk Dam and it looked secure Tuesday morning.
Hard said while the rain that fell Monday night and Tuesday morning did not help the situation, it did not hurt.
Branch County Emergency Manager Tim Miner said Monday the repairs to the dam made by private contractors working for the Drain Commission office have returned the dam to normal flow and operation.
The Blackhawk Millpond water level was lowered Sunday in order to relieve the pressure.
The crews that worked on the dam were from Lukazcek Excavating, Moderts Excavating, Dig-n-Dave, Franks Excavating and Nate Williams
Hard was meeting with engineers Tuesday to develop a long term plan and he is scheduled to make a full report to Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session Friday afternoon.
