COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A major road construction project south of Coldwater has gone past its scheduled completion deadline.
The Michigan Department of Transportation initially said a seven mile stretch of I-69 from the Indiana line to near Central Road was scheduled to be finished by last Friday.
As of Saturday morning, there were single-lane closures on both sides of I-69 and drivers were forced to reduce their speed.
The $3.3 million project called for joint resealing and drainage repairs.
MDOT says the project would make the pavement on that portion of I-69 more durable and smoother.
