MUSKEGON, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, Bronson went 5-0 and captured the championship at the Western Michigan Christian Class C Showcase Saturday. The Vikings defeated the host school in the finals 25-13, 25-18.
Bronson did not drop a set as they defeated Kent City and Covenant Christian in pool play. They then scored victories over North Pointe Christian in the cross over match and over Kalamazoo Christian in the semifinals.
Meagan Lasky recorded 88 assists while Keona Salesman had 42 kills, 24 digs, six aces and 10 blocks.
Coldwater’s girls volleyball team went 2-2 at the Cereal City Tournament on Saturday. In pool play, they lost to Battle Creek Lakeview 20-25, 25-23, 2-15. They then defeated Hopkins 25-20, 25-22 and Union City 25-5, 25-13. Coldwater was seeded seventh in the Gold Division and then lost to Bedford 25-22, 20-25, 12-15.
Malorie Rzepka led the Cardinals in kills and digs with 34 each. Tyler Scheid had eight aces and eight blocks to lead the team in both categories. Olivia Foley led in assists with 83.
Coldwater’s record is now 7-4. They will plays at Portage Central Tuesday.
