COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 1,094 golf balls fell from the sky Sunday afternoon, helping to raise money for the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The annual Sue Nagle Help From Golf Ball Drop was held at the Coldwater Golf Course, and raised around $10,000 for the coalition. The balls, sold for $10.00 each, were dropped from a hot air ballon over the course.
The ball that landed closet to the pin was purchased by Greg Asher, winning him $1,000. The second place prize of $500 went to Dave McMillan, while the farthest from the pin prize of $250 went to Bill Milnes.
The sponsor putting contest winner was John Rohloff, with Corey Collins in second place, and Karen Spangler in third place.
