COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request for a special land use permit is scheduled to come before the City of Coldwater Planning Commission Tuesday night from J.L. Maynard and A-1 Homes and Development. They are planning to install a business office and the exterior display of a model home in conjunction with manufactured home sales on the property at 379 East Chicago.
The site is currently a vacant lot at the northeast corner of East Chicago and Rose Street. It is made up of two parcels. A pair of homes used to be on the site but they were both demolished, one in 2003 the other in 2011.
The applicant is proposing to build a nearly 2,300 square foot commercial office building as well as a 1,800 square foot display model of a modular home which will be sold by Hampton Homes who will be a tenant in the office building.
