COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a chilly spring, the summer of 2018 in Coldwater saw hot weather and above average temperatures. The web site www.accuweather.com says up until Tuesday there were 11 days since May 1 when the temperature hit 90 degrees or higher.
The warmest days were May 27 and June 17 when the mercury topped out at 93 degrees. Average temperatures were above normal by eight degrees in May, by two degrees in June, by one degree in July and by four degrees in August.
Michigan State University Extension measured 4.44 inches of rain for Coldwater in August, which came after June and July were dry. Only 1.98 inches of rain fell in Coldwater in June and just 1.58 inches fell in July.
