NORTH WEBSTER, IN (WTVB) – While scattered showers are in the forecast for Branch County this weekend, heavy rain is expected to drench a large area of Indiana and Ohio.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Kyle Brown at the North Webster, Indiana office says the rain will become moderate to heavy at times and will increase the flood risk south of U.S. 24.
Flash flood watches have been issued to as far north as the Fort Wayne area as two to five inches of rain is expected thanks to remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon.
Forecasters are calling for maybe an inch-and-a-half of rain at the most in the southern portions of Branch, Hillsdale and St. Joseph counties.
