CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Elka Machan won the girls Class A-B division race for juniors and seniors Saturday at the Centreville Cross Country Invitational. Kathy Potter was third while Cece Dewitt was 13th.
In a close battle for the team title, Niles finished one point ahead of Coldwater, 40-41.
Coldwater’s Kyle Foulk was fourth in the boys race while Jose Blankenship was 12th.
In the Class A-B division for freshmen and sophomores, Coldwater was fourth in the boys meet. Anthony Potter was seventh and John Aerts was eighth. Coldwater was third in the girls meet. Legend Szafranski was fifth, Carolyn Potter was sixth and Ezma Machan was ninth.
Quincy was second while Bronson was third in the Boys Division Two Race on Saturday at the Lakeview Invitational in Battle Creek. According to results posted at www.athletic.net, the top finisher for Bronson was Luis Ortiz who was 16th. Quincy’s top finisher was Erik Butchart who was 34th.
Quincy finished fifth in the Girls Division Two race. Bronson did not have enough runners for a team score. Bronson’s Xochitl Garcia was sixth while Madelyn Allman was 32nd for Quincy.
