COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Division Two fifth ranked Marshall scored two goals 45 seconds apart and held on to beat the Coldwater High School varsity soccer team 2-0 Thursday night. The Cardinals conceded the two goals seven minutes into the game against the undefeated Redhawks.
Coldwater fell to 5-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference. Balal Nasser made six saves in goals, as Marshall outshot Coldwater 11-6.
The Cards play at Sturgis Saturday, then return to Interstate 8 Conference play at home Tuesday against Pennfield.
The Coldwater junior varsity team beat Marshall 2-1. Dillon Lawhead and Drayke Fitch scored for the Cardinals.
