BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school tennis, Coldwater finished third while Bronson was fourth Saturday at the Harper Creek Invitational Saturday.
Coldwater had two flight championships. Will Reehl won at number three singles and the number one doubles team of Sam Morrison and Alec Keplinger finished first.
The number two doubles team of Bryce Lafferty and Zach Rigot came in second as did the number four doubles team of Josh Small and Stuart Sobeski. The number three doubles team of Kyle Sheppard and Ryan Murphy came in third.
Coldwater plays Monday at home against Pennfield. They travel to Parma Western Wednesday.
In cross country, the Bronson boys were 11th while the girls were third Saturday in the Division Four races at the Holly Invitational. Luis Ortiz was the top finisher for the boys as he was 17th. Xochitl Garcia of Bronson was third in the girls meet while Allison Fish was 12th.
Union City’s boys finished 10th at the Mendon Invitational. Owen Needham was the top finisher for the Chargers as he was 28th. Union City did not have enough runners for a team score in the girls race. Marionna Bigelow of Union City was 40th.
