COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two vehicles were totaled and a woman was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Tuesday morning following a crash at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Fremont Road, between Coldwater and Quincy.
Quincy Police Chief Jeremy Burch says the accident took place at about 6:45 a.m. when a car failed to yield at the intersection and was hit broadside by an eastbound van.
The driver of the van was wearing a seat belt and the airbag deployed. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out after complaining of soreness.
It was still dark when the accident took place and it was initially thought by the person who called in the accident that the car had left the scene. It was found behind some nearby bushes a short time later.
The at-fault driver of the car was cited for failure to yield by the Quincy Police Department.
