QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – It was a happy Homecoming for the Quincy Orioles as they defeated the Homer Trojans 20-0. The Orioles grabbed a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on a 37 yard touchdown pass from Evan Henning to Chandler Locke. A 58 yard touchdown by Sebastian Gillette and an eight yard score by Brandon Harrison in the second half rounded out the scoring for Quincy as the Orioles improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Big 8. Gillette rushed for 139 yards. Evan Coon led the defense with eight tackles.
The state-ranked Reading Rangers jumped out to a 24-0 first quarter lead and went on to defeat Union City 45-0. Reading had a 419-63 edge in total yards. Larson Kever led the Union City defense with six tackles. The Chargers are now 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the Big 8.
And Jonesville picked up their first win of the season by defeating Bronson 44-8. The Vikings dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the Big 8.
