COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school soccer Monday, Coldwater gave up a late lead and settled for a 2-2 tie at home against Battle Creek Lakeview.
After a scoreless first half, Coldwater’s Shaif Ahmed got the first goal of the game eight minutes into the second half. Lakeview tied the game eight minutes later on a penalty kick. The Cardinals retook the lead with 21 minutes to play in the game on a goal from Abe Alhjaji, assisted by Angel Rodriguez. Lakeview tied the game again with 17:31 to play, and that’s how the contest ended.
Balal Nasser made four saves in goal.
Coldwater is 7-5-3 overall, and they will host Jackson Northwest Tuesday for Senior Night.
The Coldwater junior varsity team beat Lakeview 3-1. Drayke Fitch had all three goals for the Cardinals.
Also in high school soccer Monday, Quincy fell to Hillsdale Academy 4-2.
