QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In high school cross country, the Quincy girls won the Big 8 Jamboree hosted by the Orioles Tuesday night. They edged Jonesville by four points to take the top spot. Bronson was fourth while Union City was eighth.
Bronson’s Xochitl Garcia was second while her teammate Alison Fish was fourth, Abby Ware was 13th and Grace Welch was 24th. Quincy’s Harmony Harpster who was third while Madelyn Allman was fifth. Also finishing in the top 30 for Quincy were Avery Rufenacht (14th), Makenzie Blatter (15th), Alyssa Smith (23rd), Elise Wright (25th), Audrey Wright (26th), Zoe Smith (27th) and Mollie Butchart (29th). Marionna Bigelow was the top finisher for Union City as she was 28th.
Concord won the boys meet by 15 points over Jonesville. Quincy was fourth, Bronson finished fifth and Union City was seventh. Bronson’s Luis Ortiz finished third while Reagan Mayer was 18th, Mario Sanchez was 24th and Brayden Ransbottom was 30th. Quincy’s Erik Butchart was tenth while Joshua Pepper was 14th, Ian Trall was 19th, Carter Moore was 20th and Brock Martin was 29th. Union City’s Owen Needham was 21st.
