COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the suspects involved in a home invasion on Burlew Road which led to a home occupant firing a gun at the intruders entered into a plea agreement Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
A court spokesperson says 20-year Branden Swander of Sandusky, Ohio entered a guilty plea to a charge of attempted second degree home invasion.
A charge of second degree conspiracy to commit home invasion as well as a sentence enhancement for being a second time habitual offender will be dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for the plea.
Swander is scheduled to be sentenced November 19, 2018.
20-year-old co-defendant Bryceton Vanscoder was shot and suffered a non-life threatening wound during the incident. He is also facing charges of attempted second degree home invasion and second degree conspiracy to commit home invasion.
