COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Labor Day was over a month ago but summer like conditions continue to linger into the second week of October.
According to www.intellicast.com, Monday’s high of 86 degrees at the Branch County Memorial Airport missed the record high for October 8 by one degree. The record high of 87 degrees was set in 1939.
The record high of 85 for Tuesday was also set in 1939 and there’s a good chance it will be broken.
The National Weather Service forecast is calling for highs in the mid 80s, over 20 degrees above normal for this time of year.
The normal high for Coldwater on October 9 is 63 degrees.
All good things must come to an end as there is big change in the weather forecast. Thunderstorms that are in the forecast for Wednesday will usher in much cooler air. Highs Thursday are expected to be only in the mid 50’s.
