COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There was plenty of cold in Coldwater on Thursday morning.
Say goodbye to your plants and vegetation if you left them unprotected overnight.
Temperatures officially dipped below freezing for the first time this season at the Branch County Memorial Airport which is where Coldwater’s official temperature is recorded.
The mercury dropped to 28 degrees just after 5:00 a.m. Temperatures were below freezing throughout the early morning hours. It’s hard to believe we were in the mid 80’s for highs just nine days ago.
In addition to the chilly weather, the forecast for the weekend says we could see a mixture of rain and snow showers on Saturday night.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Nathan Jeruzal in Grand Rapids says the one bit of good news is that a hard frost marks the end of the mosquito season.
