COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education will be asked Monday night to approve the design and development budgets for the new fourth and fifth grade building on Western Avenue, as well as for projects at Legg Middle School.
The action will come after representatives from Owen-Ames-Kimball Company of Grand Rapids make a presentation on the budgets.
The board will also be asked to approve the signing of an agreement with architects from Tower Pinkster for technology design services on the new school building, which is scheduled to open in a couple of years.
Tower Pinkster is serving as the architect for the project while Owen-Ames-Kimball Company is serving as the construction manager.
The new building will replace Lakeland Elementary in a couple of years and it’s being built following the close approval of a nearly $30 million millage and bonding issue last November by voters in the Coldwater Community School District.
The district will also use the funds from the millage for infrastructure needs in the district and for the purchase of new buses.
