COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District is exploring the possibility of bringing back their building trades program at the Branch Area Careers Center.
Vocational Education Director Randy Sowles told the BISD Board of Education last week that a list of about 20 potential advisory committee members has been put together and a meeting is scheduled to take place December 10, 2018.
The committee will provide input and will include representatives from Lansing Community College and Southwest Michigan College in Dowagiac.
Sowles added they have preliminary data on the number of high school students in Branch County who are interested being in a construction trades program.
He pointed out the next part would be to hire what he called “a great instructor”. No decisions have been made yet.
