COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Noon Rotary has recognized a handful of longtime Coldwater Rotarians by granting them honorary membership in the club.
The five that were saluted were named at yesterday’s weekly meeting of Noon Rotary, which is headed up this year by Scott Ohm. The club president told the Tuesday gathering that the honorees represent a total of 279 years of membership in the Coldwater Rotary Club.
The longest tenure belongs to Craig Sebald, who joined the club in 1957. He is followed by Fred Culy and Bob Rumsey, who each became Rotarians in 1960. Next is Bob Loose, who signed up in 1962, and then Rich Holben in 1972.
In addition yesterday, Pete Baldwin and Dr. Joe Holicki were present at the session and will now be wearing at future meetings their badges which identify them as honorary members of the club. Baldwin, who for a long time has been a member of Quincy Rotary, has for many years made up meetings or been a guest at the Coldwater Rotary luncheons.
Dr. Holicki was in the spotlight for being the drummer in the band which provides the orchestra music for Rotarians in their annual variety show at the Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater where in February he will be drumming in his 20th show.
