COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Tuesday was the opening night of the season for the Coldwater Legg Middle School boys basketball teams.
The eighth grade A team lost to Parma Western 45-35. Hunter Munson and Chase Sunderland led the scoring with 10 points each. Donte Work helped out with 9 points. Hamid Abdulla and Garret Johns chipped in 3 points each. Their next game is Thursday at Jackson Lumen Christi.
The eighth grade B team lost to Parma Western 29-11. Scoring for the Cardinals was Alex Robey with seven points. Redwan Alslehay and Eduardo Arroyo both had two points. Bodee Bates led to team with six rebounds. Robey also had four steals. The next game is Thursday at Lumen Christi.
Legg’s 7th grade A basketball team lost to Parma Western 35-22. The leading scorers were Grant Carter with seven points and Jack Ruden with five points. Zach Coffing had eight rebounds while Tyson Roby grabbed six boards. Evan Porter had three steals while Tuden had four assists. Their next game is Thursday night at home against Lumen Christi.
The 7th grade B team lost 30-29 to Parma Western on a last second free throw. Hugo Mojica led the way with 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Connor Friend had six points and four rebounds. Kaden Voyce chipped in with six points, Ammar Abdullah had four points, Kyle Litwiller scored two and Nabil Saeed grabbed four rebounds. The Cards host Lumen Christi Thursday.
