BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Five occupants, including two children, escaped serious injuries Thursday afternoon after a car they were in rolled over on West Colon Road, east of Snow Prairie Road.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department reports 48-year-old Angel Rojas of Colon was heading westbound when he looked down at the radio. When he looked up, his vehicle was heading towards a ditch and a mailbox. Rojas lost control, went into the ditch, and overturned.
Heavy damage was reported to the vehicle. A 19-year-old rear seat passenger was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment of what was described as a minor injury. No injuries were reported to Rojas, a 48-year-old female passenger, or to two children ages seven and nine.
The Sheriff Office was assisted by Lifecare Ambulance, and Bowers Wrecker Service. This accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. Rojas was cited for driving while his license was suspended.
