COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Those who have served in the military were honored on Sunday as the Coldwater American Legion Post 52 hosted its annual Veterans Day open house.
Eric Anderson from the Coldwater American Legion Post said Sunday was a special day as it marked the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One and the Coldwater Legion will be celebrating its 100th anniversary next year.
There was a rifle salute and the playing of Taps by the Coldwater American Legion Drill Team.
Other Veterans Day ceremonies were held in recent days at the Burnside Senior Center and at Ryan Elementary School in Bronson.
Students and staff at Quincy Middle School will host their second annual Veterans Day Assembly Monday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. in the Quincy High School gym.
School officials say it is held to educate students about the importance of people who serve our military, but most importantly, to honor our local veterans for their dedication to our country.
