BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Two powerhouse girl’s volleyball programs in the State of Michigan will meet at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek this afternoon in the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Division Three semifinals. Top-ranked Monroe Saint Mary Catholic Central is looking to stop second-ranked Bronson from winning a fourth straight state title.
This will be the third time in four years the Vikings and Kestrels have met in volleyball. Bronson beat St. Mary 3-1 in the quarterfinals last season and 3-0 in the 2015 state championship match.
The two schools have won seven of the last nine girls volleyball state titles in their division. St. Mary won five state titles between 2003 and 2014. They also have 15 regional championships and 20 district crowns.

The winner will face either Unionville-Sebewaing or Traverse City St. Francis for the state title at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
In the Division Two semifinals, Grand Rapids Christian will face Lake Odessa Lakewood at 4:30 p.m. followed by Pontiac Notre Dame Prep against Corunna at 6:30 p.m..
Mendon is in the Division Four semifinals. The Hornets will face Southfield Christian on Friday at 12:00 noon.
