COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a renegotiated contract with CTS Telecommunications Tuesday, which CBPU officials say will increase their bandwidth while reducing costs.
CTS Telecommunications is one of the CBPU providers for data line charges.
CTS will provide the utility a 10GB pipe to the internet for a monthly fee of $7,000, which is lower than the previous contract of $9,000 month for a 4GB pipe.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd says they not only negotiated data line charges, but also how they receive Skitter TV feeds.
CTS agreed to keep the current speeds and pricing the same, and also agreed to levelize pricing as the bandwidth needs increase. Both of the agreements are for three years starting on January first.
