COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The University of Michigan-Dearborn Center for Innovation Research has recognized the City of Coldwater for contributing to the state’s entrepreneurial growth and economic development.
The eCities study conducted by researchers at iLabs has honored Coldwater along with 180 other communities around Michigan as a Five Star Community.
The study analyzed publicly available data from 277 communities in 54 Michigan counties.
Researchers focused on the five-year changes in property values, community assets and tax rates.
Coldwater and other communities being honored increased their capital assets by an average of two percent per year by investing in such items as street and building improvements, technology, emergency vehicles and equipment.
